Scott Hampton, a passionate truck enthusiast from Clayton, Indiana, has made his mark in the custom truck scene with his remarkable 1958 GMC Apache. This one-of-a-kind vehicle, featuring the expertise of Stoner Speed Shop, showcases the dedication and craftsmanship that goes into creating a truly exceptional build.
Scott's Apache features a reliable and powerful GM Connect and Cruise 495hp LS3 engine. It retains its authentic appeal while offering impressive performance. The truck has a distinctive growl thanks to Hooker manifolds, in-house dual stainless exhaust, and Borla Mufflers. The 6L80 stock transmission ensures smooth shifts to the Quick Performance 9'' rear axle. With a GSI Full Air Ride chassis, Ridetech shocks, and Wilwood Pro spindles, the truck offers a comfortable ride and enhanced handling. Safety is prioritized with a comprehensive Wilwood braking system. The aesthetics include 20'' John R wheels, Redline tires, and a well-crafted interior by Boss Interior.
Being featured in the yearly calendar, specifically for June, has been an honor for Scott as it coincides with his 55th birthday and his “ceremonial” retirement. Looking ahead, Scott has his sights set on attending the Goodguys show in Des Moines, Iowa, and continues to seek new opportunities to explore and expand his love for trucks.
As a family man, Scott's wife has been a constant supporter of his hobby, and with their children grown, he has dedicated more time to his other business, a Harley shop, and recently acquired machine shop. While Scott's truck collection spans various body styles from the 1950s to the present day, this 1958 GMC Apache definitely stands out in his garage.
In a world with so many custom builds, Scott's Apache stands out as a truly unique creation. With every detail meticulously planned and executed. We cannot wait to see what he adds to his collection next!
